The Motley Fool
has some
good advice for people in debt. You have to wade through ads for low rate credit cards and loans to get to it, as well as sites that help you switch to cheaper utilities. These may seem tempting - and can make a difference - but if you are already in hock up to your neck, think carefully before you apply for more credit. Oh, and if you look at the Motley Fool's
advice on IVAs, they tell you to look for the cheapest practitioner. That's almost certainly us! Finally, they have an article by someone who went through an IVA - so if you want to know what it is like,
click here (You'll have to sign up for Motley Fool, but that costs nothing and is probably worth it for a warts-and-all-view of an IVA in practice).
How an IVA works
Another straightforward guide to the way an
IVA works:

However, If you want a quick and painless ( you don't need to input a single figure) overview of what your financial priorities ought to be - you could do worse than
Bankruptcy Advisory Service
If
bankruptcy looks like the only way out (
see our information on this here), then you can do a lot worse than talk to the
Bankruptcy Advisory Service, for good, friendly
debt advice.

debt.

IVA is the right choice for you -

IVA, we'll send you one of these anyway).
