This may not work for everyone BUT it helps me cope within budget.

I get paid every 4 weeks. On pay day, i pay all my bills. Even my direct debits are set up to come out on pay day.

Next, i fill my car up with a full tank of petrol (as i know that is all i will need until i next get paid)

And then, whatever money is left over, i split evenly between 4 envelopes. I then have a set amount of money for each week until my next pay day.

Just make sure you have a (very) secure place for all that cash!

Why not just withdraw that amount using your cashcard each week - then put the card away.
