For the last six months or so, I have been finding it difficult to meet my payments, and be able to afford items such as work clothes due to rises in my gas, electric, food and travel bills .

It has now got to the stage where I am going to work in shoes with holes in both soles, and heels worn down. Both pairs of my work shoes are now in this condition.

The cuffs on my work shirts are now all frayed, and look scruffy.

Today, the material on my (one and only) suit trousers have worn through, and frankly I feel a bit of a mess.

I find going to work in this state quite depressing, and wonder if there is anything i can do about the situation.

I am 3 years into my IVA next month.

I have pretty much cut out socialising preffering to buy the odd DVD here and there to keep me entertained, and above all, have ensured I have kept my payments up to date on the IVA and all my bills.

manabout the house,

thank your for you post!

I believe the recent increase in living costs is currently affecting everyone. Particularly those living by a strict budget like yourself.

I think creditors are currently quite sympathetic for debtors changes in circumstances and if you contact your IVA provider they may be able to offer you some sort of payment relief.

It may be an option for a payment break in order to replace your suit or look at your situation as a whole and see if they can reduce your payments slightly to cover your increases.

There may be a few options available to you which could help.... Just contact your IVA provider for more information.
