Being in debt is not a nice thing. What ever you do the bills just keep on cominig, you can't avoid them. I think we all try to avoid them, we know it is wrong, we know we should not have got into such a situation, but we have. The worst thing is facing up to what we have done and trying to put it rigtht. I think for most of us it is because we feel embarassed about what we have done. We don't like to feel out of control. Having gone into an IVA and finding life is generally better, because the debt is controlled, I now wish I'd done it much sooner. So for any one out there who is unsure, or has any of the feelings I had of embarassment or shame, don't. The sooner you get sortred the better. Our debts aree far higher than they would have been had we had not been so ashamed of our our situation and had we not burried our heads in the sand. We may have even been able to avoid going into an IVA. |

Hi Jaymo,
I am very happy to hear that the IVA has helped control your financial situation and I myself feel that an IVA is nothing to be ashamed about – it is basically a way of paying your creditors a monthly amount that you can realistically afford as well as learning how to budget your money on a monthly/weekly basis.
Hope all goes well for the duration of your IVA and if anyone at ClearDebt can assist you in any way please feel free to call us!
Best of Luck

Hi jaymo,
How you were feeling is exactly how i have been feeling too. i did not want to talk to anybody about my situation but from visiting this forum, i take comfort in the fact that i am not the only one to have experienced financial difficulties, although sometimes i feel that i am.
I have now faced up to the fact that i need to take action and sort myself out but whether i choose bankruptcy or an IVA is still something of a difficult choice for me. Whatever my decision, it will affect the rest of my life.
