Who we are

ClearDebt Group plc was established in 2004 by leading Insolvency Practitioner David Mond. ClearDebt's founding principle is to be a safe place for people in debt to come for advice and debt solutions - guaranteeing a transparent and ethical service at all times.  The latest information on the ClearDebt Group can be found on it's website.

David Mond has worked with people and organisations in financial crisis for over 40 years. Throughout this time, he has been witness to companies that collapsed because they failed to put their clients' needs first. ClearDebt aimed, right from the start, to be the most effective, transparent and ethical debt resolution provider. That will always be our aim.

Based in Timperley, Cheshire, ClearDebt has over 130 staff and is continuing to grow. If you come to us for advice, our commitment to you is that we will always tell you about the full range of options open to you and recommend the most appropriate solutions for you according to your personal circumstances and regardless whether we offer the solution you choose.

We never charge for the advice we give you, but if you do enter an Individual Voluntary Arrangement or Debt Management Plan with one of our group companies, then fees will apply and these are made clear by our advisors, in the documentation you receive and on the appropriate web pages about our IVAs, and DMPs.

If you enter an IVA with us it will be administered by ClearDebt Limited. If you enter a DMP with us it will be administered by Abacus (Financial Consultants) Limited. Both these companies have their own Consumer Credit Licences and are wholly owned subsidiaries of ClearDebt Group PLC

As Chairman of the Debt Resolution Forum, David encourages and pays for all staff to take the CertDR qualification - Certificate in Debt Resolution, which is a qualification offered to all professionals in the debt sector and managed by the DRF.  This qualification requires 210 hours of study and is equivalent to a BTEC National Diploma.
