Lib Dems ‘less concerned’ by personal debt

The Liberal Democrats appear to care the least out of the main political parties about helping individuals with substantial personal debt.

This is the suggestion of a survey carried out by ClearDebt, in which candidates from each of the political parties were asked for their views on the matter.

Labour representatives appeared to care the most, as 20 per cent of those questioned responded to the poll, while the Conservatives came in second with 15 per cent returning their stances.

The Liberal Democrats lagged behind with 7 per cent of those quizzed offering their feelings.

ClearDebt summarised from their findings that a low percentage of prospective MPs view consumer debt as an important issue, but also discovered that those politicians who do, hope to see new laws passed to help those in financial turmoil.

Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrat shadow chancellor, recently claimed the British economy is still at risk of experiencing a double dip recession.
